How is the HEPA H13 filter lifespan calculated?Updated 3 days ago

The lifespan of the HEPA H13 filter begins automatically as soon as it is first exposed to air. This is a natural characteristic of HEPA filters and applies whether or not the air purifier is actively being used.

Why does the HEPA H13 filter age even when it's not in use?

Once exposed to air, the filter continuously interacts with its surrounding environment.

In particular, the activated carbon layer gradually absorbs:

  • Moisture
  • Airborne pollutants
  • Odours and other contaminants

Over time, this passive absorption reduces the filter's effectiveness, even if the Air Klyna S is switched off.

To ensure optimum performance, we recommend keeping replacement filters sealed in their airtight packaging until they are ready to be installed. Once the packaging is opened, the filter begins to age due to oxidation, moisture absorption and passive exposure to airborne contaminants.
